I am Vaishali, a renewable energy enthusiast supporting investment and development in clean energy space in two of the world's most powerful economies, India and Japan.

As a first woman engineer and global expat in my family, I am passionate and take great pride in promoting the growth of women in the Energy and STEM sector, especially in developing economies.

When I'm not working on formulating business expansion strategies for TEPCO's goals that align with Japan's Net Zero targets, I actively organize and participate in energy-centric events supporting the industry and fellow women.

World Energy Council
Representing Japan in Cohort 2023 as a future energy leader in the World Energy Council with an objective of understanding the global energy sector, challenges and energy transition while developing a human-centric leadership mindset. The three year program includes a limited number of tailored projects, real-life challenges and exposure to the use of energy transition leadership tools, one dedicated Secretary-General sponsored project per year, learning through observation and engagement in expert working groups, participation in high-level events including World Energy Congress and World Energy Week as well as peer networking events and so on.

This network is established with a goal to bring together Asian women involved in Renewable energy sector. We seek to improve visibility in leadership positions through networking, trainings, mentorship programs, sponsorship for obtaining degree in energy sector, sharing information about interesting opportunities or job posts nad in short help each other grow in a decade where Asia is the future.

The mentorship program is run globally and provides an opportunity for women to connect, generate new friendships and networks, and share experiences in a supportive environment that highlights the powerful contributions women from around the world make in the hydropower industry. The goal is to create a meaningful connection where the mentor and mentee become collaborators in each other’s success.Vaishali has been mentoring in the program since 2021 and has been associated with 2 women from Mexico and Spain respectively working on different aspects of the business and personal development.

Net Impact

Net Impact professionals is an international organization headquartered in US. Vaishali and her team started a local chapter in Tokyo during the COVID times in 2020. The team of 5 multicultural and multilingual experts rolled out based on the theme of SDGs globally. They have been associated with UNs new initiative of EvalforAction to quantify the result of Net Zero targets in Japan primarily. Since 2022, the focus of the group is to promote CSR activities and Awareness for gender gap in several industries in Japan mongst the businesslike professionals.

GyanKunj

Gyankunj is an education-focused NGO with medical training, skill development, and supplementary courses. Back in 2017, they discovered that it is not a lack of interest of slum children but rather a lack of good teachers that resulted in high dropout rates. Gyankunj originated with the objective to reduce dropout rates and provide high quality and concept-oriented education to these children. Vaishali has been teaching the kids Online Japanese since July 2021 as her contribution towards bringing global exposure to slum children.
